Docker Adds Kubernetes Support

Today at DockerCon Europe in Copenhagen, Docker made a significant announcement in the container orchestration space. Docker adds Kubernetes support natively alongside Docker Swarm for both the Community and Enterprise Edition (EE). This effectively ends any remaining debate that the container orchestration platform winner is indeed Kubernetes.

With AWS announcing its support for the CNCF and ultimately the Kubernetes project, we should be expecting a similar announcement shortly from AWS. With AWS re:Invent coming up later next month, we wouldn’t be surprised at all to see AWS announce a “GKE-like” offering alongside ECS in Las Vegas.
